It’s okay not be okay

This time of year stirs up a lot of emotions.
These celebrations begin to trigger us deep thinkers to think deeply about our lives, relationships, and progress.
It’s easy to feel a grey cloud rising over head. Also, not everyone understands this, and so they begin to encourage you to “cheer up,” as if emotions could be turned on and off like a light switch.
Wherever this finds you, I want to give you permission to feel what you’re feeling and to be okay with it.
No, you are not a weirdo if the holiday season does not work for you or brighten your soul.
No, you are not selfish for allowing yourself time to feel what you feel rather than masking it for the sake of pleasing others.
Listen, it’s been a difficult couple of years. People have been greatly impacted by the lockdown.
So take this as a reminder to let go, take things slowly, listen to your soul, and attend to the nourishment it necessitates.
While you’re out with family and friends, make time for yourself and tune in to the message that Life has for you.
These are frequently the times when great epiphanies occur and you gain the insight to align yourself with your authentic desires and path.
