I dare you, starting from today, blow your own trumpet because someone out there wants to dance to your tune.

If you are anything like me, self-promotion makes me feel awkward. I know I have value to offer, but I’ve frequently thought that people who really want to know will notice. This is simply not true.

In a world saturated with voices, you need to engage with your audience and potential clients. Value isn’t value if you have nobody to offer it to; try creating from a place of serving a need.

Because the nature of value is that it fulfils a need or aspiration that someone holds and so you, the creator, need to keep that in mind because successful businesses do not run in a vacuum.

So here are three reasons you need to speak publically about your product or service.

  • Nobody knows what you offer until you make it known.

Stop assuming people know what you do. Take the approach that most people are saturated by what the social media algorithm thinks they want to see. So with this in mind, find a way to consistently showcase what you do to your audience.

  • Nobody wants to do business with someone who lacks confidence.

Are you confident about what you do? Do you take pride in your product or service? Then why not show that to the world. Clients are drawn to people who have high esteem in what they do. It fosters trust.

  • Nobody knows what you do, so no one gives you feedback.

As you blow your own horn, people will give you feedback if you ask for it. Feedback is your way of becoming more effective. You need to understand and even predict the needs of your market, and this is done by sharing the work.

To conclude, don’t let fear hold you back from engaging with your network, because it can have many benefits for you and your endeavours.
